Live Streaming Configuration

The system allows you to live stream the project on any video platform which can take H.264.

Platforms such as YouTube or Dailymotion require specific resolution settings and outputs.

Catalogues and profiles

You can configure different streaming settings and store them in a catalogue. This folder/file tree allows you to keep different settings for your different productions.

Specific option for E-LEARNING / TRACKING

You can check a profile so that it will be used in the event of a broadcast from systems like E-LEARNING and TRACKING : "Enable this profile for E-LEARNING or TRACKING streaming"

The profiles selected will be launched after clicking onfrom one of the two systems.

Resolution and flow

You just have to specify the pixel size of the video. Please maintain the aspect ratio.

Choose the flow adapted for your Internet connection (flow speed) and the server’s broadcast capacity. In the event of an adaptive broadcast (the server adapts the flow based on reading terminals), one HD stream will be broadcast. In the event of a multiple broadcast (SD, HD, iPhone,...), you must create a streaming profile for each one.

Video codec

The codec determines the compression mode used for the broadcast. You have the choice between MP4 H.264 and VP6.

H.264

This is the most common codec today. It exists in 2 versions:

  • NVENC: uses the graphics card for the compression, also freeing up the processor for other software processing operations.
  • CPU: uses the processor for compression.

Only 2 GPU encodings can be executed at the same time. Consider consulting your recording settings and dividing up the CPU/GPU load.

VP6

This codec is quite old and therefore less efficient than H.264.

Codec audio

  • MP3: The mp3 codec allows for a non audible compression.
  • AAC: It follows mp3 for a better quality sound rendition.

Streaming server

Delay the data connection to the Server, specifically:

  • Server Hostname: URL of the server, rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live
  • Stream Name: This is the edit point
  • Login / Password: This data is not always necessary

Local recording

The directly encoded stream can be locally recorded (as well as native recording). This allows you to supply a lighter file at the end of the broadcast.

Streaming Test

You can test the proper configuration of the streaming flow, independently from your video/audio sources. This is very practical for testing the Internet connection at the very start of the set up.

An animal video sequence with sound is then played and allows you to verify the proper functioning of the broadcast.
